How good was tonight's Desmond-centric episode of LOST entitled "Happily Ever After"?Let's just put it this way. I jumped on twitter to tweet about the episode immediately afterward and "Desmond" was trending worldwide. People know him...he's kind of a big deal.
Everyone loves Desmond and Penny. Season 4's episode "The Constant", which is widely considered the single best episode of the entire series, firmly entrenched this love story at the heart of the show. Tonight's epi added another beautiful layer to this arc and the entwined lives along it.
The LOST writers are so brilliant because they tipped their cap to so many previous amazing moments on the show. We were given Charlie, Claire, Minkowski, Faraday, Jack, Eloise, and some MacCutcheon Scotch...awesome! To top it off, Michael Giacchino brought the goods again with another score perfectly keyed in to the emotional heft of the scenes.
There are only six episodes left...sigh...and then I can retire from watching television for good.
